Diffusers are a semi-rigid polycarbonate material with a fine “grain” pattern on one side that smoothes and spreads the brake light. Diffusers come with an installation kit of black vinyl strips to securely hold them in place, but can be easily removed with no damage and reinstalled at a later time.

The Vinyl 3BL cover is the same shape as our diffusers, but is 1/4” larger all the way around. It’s installed like a large vinyl sticker - applied directly to the brake light. There is no light diffusion with the vinyl version.
 

1. Remove 3BL interior cover (black plastic) - simply pull down from 2 clips holding it in place.

2. Unbolt the 2 bolts and washers holding the 3BL light box up against the rear glass. (10mm socket)

3. Pull apart the white plastic electric connector to completely remove the 3BL light box.
 

4. Bring it indoors or somewhere clean to apply the 3BL diffuser.

5. Place the long piece of vinyl tape included with the 3BL diffuser across the top, half on  & half off.

6. Press into place onto the 3BL diffuser, but be careful not to press the tape onto the work surface.
 

7. Align the 3BL diffuser over the brake light and press the vinyl tape into place by wrapping it over the top of the brake light box.
 

8. Make sure the top tape is pressed securely into place.

9. Use the remaining strips of vinyl tape to secure the bottom edge of the diffuser to the brake light box.

10. Continue to press the vinyl into place around the bottom edge.

11. Reverse the removal instructions to re-install the completed 3BL diffuser back into your vehicle.

12. Enjoy your newly customized 3rd Brake Light - with the help of someone pressing your brake pedal for you!
